What LinkHonk is

We introduce buyers to publishers, take the payment, check the work, and pass the money on. The placement itself is between the buyer and the publisher. We are not the publisher of anything listed here and we do not control what appears on anyone else’s website.

What we check, and what we do not

Before a website can be listed, its owner proves they control it and we run automated checks to see that it is a real, working website. When a placement goes live we fetch the page and confirm the link is really there, then re-check it for 30 days.

We report what we find on a page at the time we look. We make no claims about traffic, rankings, search engine treatment, or the commercial value of any placement, and nothing on this site should be read as such a claim. Whether a website is worth buying on is your decision.

Money

Buyers pay when they order. Publishers set their own prices, with a minimum of $30 per placement, and LinkHonk adds 20% on top, which is what the buyer sees and what we keep.

Funds sit in LinkHonk’s own Stripe balance between payment and payout. This is not escrow and we do not describe it as such: it is our balance, and we transfer from it when the work is done. Publishers are paid after a placement is verified and the buyer’s 72-hour review window closes, once their balance reaches $100.

Refunds

If a publisher declines an order, you are refunded for it automatically, to the card you paid with. If a placement cannot be verified, or an issue you raise during the review window is upheld, you are refunded for that placement. Card refunds usually take five to ten days to appear.

If you are a publisher

You decide which orders to accept and you can decline any of them at no cost. You are responsible for what you publish, including any disclosure your jurisdiction requires for paid content. We can remove a website from the marketplace if it stops meeting our requirements, if placements bought through us are removed or altered, or if we are given good reason to.

What we will not sell

We do not accept websites that exist mainly to sell links, nor placements for gambling, pharmaceuticals, adult material, or anything unlawful. We can refuse any listing or order without giving a reason.

Liability

Our responsibility to you is limited to the money you paid for the placement in question. We are not responsible for what a third party does with their own website, for how a search engine treats a link, or for any loss beyond the value of the order.
